1. Overview
Blitz PDF is a document scanner app. It uses your device camera (or images you already have) to scan documents, correct and enhance the pages, recognise text, and build, view, annotate, print, and share PDFs.
We are committed to protecting your privacy.
The short version: Your files, scans, and documents never leave your device — all document processing happens entirely on your device, and we do not operate any server that receives your content. Blitz PDF has no user accounts. To keep the app free and reliable, it uses Google AdMob (to show ads), Google Analytics for Firebase (to understand app usage), and Firebase Crashlytics (to detect and fix crashes). These Google services collect limited technical and usage data described in Section 4 — never your document content. The app also downloads document-rendering libraries over the internet — again, never your documents.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your files, scans, PDFs, documents, photos, or their contents
- Text extracted by on-device text recognition (OCR)
- Your name, email address, or other personal identifiers you enter
- Precise or GPS location
- Contacts, calendar, or microphone data
2.2 Data Collected by Google Services (sent off your device)
To keep the app free and reliable, Blitz PDF includes Google SDKs that collect limited data and send it to Google. None of this includes your document content.

Where a consent prompt is required (for example in the EU/EEA), analytics is enabled only if you can be measured — i.e. based on your ad-consent choice. You can review or change that choice at any time via Settings → Ad Preferences.
2.3 Data Stored Locally On Your Device
The following is saved only on your device and is never sent to us. It stays under your control and is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall Blitz PDF:

3. How Your Files Are Handled
All file processing in Blitz PDF is 100% on-device:
- Pages you capture or import are read from your device's camera/local storage
- Edge detection, perspective crop, enhancement, rotation, and PDF assembly are performed locally using on-device libraries
- Text recognition (OCR) runs on-device using Google ML Kit — your images and the recognised text are processed locally and are not sent to Google or anyone else for recognition
- Output files are saved to your device (and temporary copies to the app cache)
- No file content is ever uploaded to our servers or any third-party server
4. Network Use, Analytics & Advertising
Blitz PDF does not operate any backend server and does not upload your documents. The app uses the internet for three purposes.
4.1 Document-rendering libraries
When you view certain documents (for example DOCX files, or PDFs rendered in the in-app viewer), the app downloads the rendering libraries it needs — pdf.js, mammoth.js, and DOMPurify — from public content-delivery networks (jsDelivr and Cloudflare). These libraries are loaded with Subresource Integrity checks.
- Your document content is never transmitted — only the library code is downloaded to your device.
- As with any normal web request, the CDN provider may observe your device's IP address and request metadata. This is governed by those providers' policies (jsDelivr, Cloudflare).
- If your device has no internet connection, document viewing may be limited, but scanning and PDF creation continue to work offline.
4.2 Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep Blitz PDF free, the app shows ads using Google AdMob. Ads appear only at limited moments — a frequency-capped, full-screen (interstitial) ad shown when you print or share a document. Ads never appear while scanning, editing, reading, or highlighting. To serve and measure these ads, Google may collect the AdMob data listed in Section 2.2.
- Your documents and their contents are never shared with AdMob or used for advertising.
- Where required by law (e.g. EU/EEA), a consent prompt is shown before personalised ads are served.
- You can review or change your ad-personalisation consent at any time inside the app via Settings → Ad Preferences.
- You can also limit ad tracking via your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads) and review Google's controls at https://adssettings.google.com.
4.3 Analytics & crash reporting (Firebase)
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand aggregate app usage and to detect and fix crashes. The data collected is listed in Section 2.2 and does not include your document content.

5. Permissions
Blitz PDF requests only the permissions it needs:

Blitz PDF does not request microphone, precise location, contacts, or background storage permissions. The app explicitly blocks audio recording and broad external-storage access.
6. Data Retention
- Your documents and scans: Never stored by us. They remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- Recent files list and highlights: Stored locally until you remove the item or uninstall the app.
- Temporary cache files: Created during editing/PDF building and cleared by the app and the operating system over time.
- Analytics, crash, and advertising data collected by Google (Section 2.2) is retained and processed according to Google's own policies.
- Uninstalling Blitz PDF removes the app's locally stored data.
7. Children's Privacy
Blitz PDF is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Note that the app includes Google AdMob, Analytics, and Crashlytics (Section 4), which collect the limited data described above. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. Security
Because all file processing occurs on your device and we do not transmit your files anywhere, the security of your documents depends on your device's security. We recommend:
- Keeping your device OS and the app up to date
- Using a screen lock on your device
- Deleting sensitive scanned or processed files when no longer needed
9. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others)
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not build profiles about you. We do not operate a server that holds your data, so there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete.
The technical and usage data described in Section 2.2 is collected and processed by Google (AdMob, Analytics for Firebase, and Crashlytics). To opt out of personalised ads, open Settings → Ad Preferences in the app. To exercise rights over the data Google holds, use Google's privacy controls (https://adssettings.google.com and https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy) and your device's ad settings. We do not sell your personal information.

10. Third-Party Links
The app may contain links to external websites (e.g. the Play Store, our website). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will provide a more prominent notice.
