Rishta

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Rishta mobile application ("Rishta", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use it. Rishta is a Hindi family-relationship quiz game published by PixelCount Creative Labs ("the Developer") and distributed on the Google Play Store under the package name com.pixelcount.rishta.

By installing or using Rishta, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Summary (the short version)

  • Rishta does not require an account, login, name, email, or phone number.
  • Your game progress (levels, scores, streaks, settings) is stored only on your device. We do not operate our own server that stores your personal data.
  • The app uses Google servicesAdMob (to show ads), Firebase Analytics (to understand how the app is used), and Firebase Crashlytics (to detect and diagnose crashes). These collect certain device, usage, and diagnostic information as described below.
  • The app sends local notifications (a daily practice reminder) that are generated on your device.
  • Analytics collection stays off until you pass the consent step. Where you consent (and your region permits), the app serves personalized ads through Google AdMob; it falls back to non-personalized ads only when you decline or where the law requires it. Ad content is capped at a PG maturity rating, and you can change your choice anytime via Settings → Privacy Options.
  • Rishta is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

None. Rishta has no sign-up, login, profile, or contact form. We do not ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier.

2.2 Information stored locally on your device

Rishta saves the following on your device using on-device storage (MMKV). This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Your current level and overall progress (levels 1–100)
  • High scores and per-level results
  • Daily challenge status and consecutive-day streak
  • App settings and preferences (e.g., whether the onboarding has been seen, notification permission state)
  • Your advertising-consent choice

Because this data is stored locally, uninstalling the app or using the in-app "Reset Progress" option permanently deletes it.

2.3 Information collected automatically by third-party Google services

Rishta relies on three Google services. Data they collect is processed by Google, in accordance with Google's own privacy policy — not stored on any server we operate.

a) Google AdMob (advertising) — displays banner, rewarded, and interstitial ads. When ads are served, Google and its advertising partners may collect:

  • Device advertising identifier (e.g., Android Advertising ID)
  • Device information (model, operating system version, language, general settings)
  • IP address and approximate (coarse) location derived from it
  • Ad interaction data (ads shown, taps, and similar engagement metrics)

Where you consent and your region permits, AdMob serves personalized ads — Google and its advertising partners use your device advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to select and measure ads tailored to your likely interests. Where you decline consent, or where the law requires it, ads are served in non-personalized form instead. Either way, ad content is capped at a PG maturity rating, and you can change your personalization choice at any time via Settings → Privacy Options (see Section 4).

b) Firebase Analytics (usage analytics) — helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. It may collect:

  • A Firebase app-instance identifier
  • App events (e.g., screens viewed, levels played, quiz completions)
  • General device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language, country)

Analytics collection is disabled by default and is only enabled after you pass the in-app consent step. We use analytics only in aggregate to understand gameplay trends; we do not use it to identify you personally.

c) Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics) — automatically reports crashes and errors so we can fix stability problems. Crashlytics is active from the app's first launch (it does not wait for the consent step), so that we can capture early-startup crashes. When a crash occurs it may collect:

  • A crash/error stack trace and the state of the app at the time
  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • A Crashlytics installation identifier

We do not build advertising profiles or attempt to identify you personally from any of this data.

3. How Information Is Used

  • On-device game data is used solely to run the game: to remember your progress, show your scores and streak, and resume where you left off.
  • Advertising data (collected by Google AdMob) is used to deliver and measure ads and to support the free, ad-supported version of the app.
  • Analytics data (collected by Firebase Analytics) is used in aggregate to understand how the game is played and to improve it.
  • Crash diagnostics (collected by Firebase Crashlytics) are used to detect, prioritize, and fix crashes and stability issues.
  • Local notifications are used to send you an optional daily reminder to keep your streak going.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to operating the app.

4. Advertising and Your Consent (UMP)

Rishta uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising consent.

  • If you are in a region that requires consent (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or certain U.S. states), the app presents a consent form before loading personalized ads.
  • Where you grant consent and your region permits, ads are personalized — AdMob uses your device Advertising ID and ad-interaction data to tailor and measure ads. Where you decline, or where the law requires it, ads are served in non-personalized form.
  • You can review or change your advertising choices — including withdrawing consent to personalization — at any time from Settings → Privacy Options inside the app. Changes take effect on subsequent ad requests.

5. Age of Users

Rishta is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. It is not a children's app, is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and is not enrolled in the Google Play "Designed for Families" program.

Because the app targets a 13+ audience, it does not apply Google AdMob's child-directed-treatment or under-age-of-consent settings. Advertising consent and personalization are instead governed by Google's User Messaging Platform based on your region and your choices (see Section 4), and all ad content is capped at a PG maturity rating.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app has no account system and asks for no name, email, or other personal identifier. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us using the details in Section 11 and we will respond promptly.

6. Notifications

With your permission, Rishta schedules a local daily reminder notification to encourage regular practice. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device using the operating system's notification system — no push server is involved and no data is sent to us. You can disable notifications at any time from your device's system settings or by declining the permission prompt.

7. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

The third party that processes data through your use of Rishta is Google, via:

  • AdMob and the User Messaging Platform (advertising and consent),
  • Firebase Analytics (usage analytics), and
  • Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics).

Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy resources linked in Section 2.3.

The app also uses the Google Play in-app review feature (to let you optionally rate the app), which is handled by the Google Play Store and subject to Google's policies.

8. Data Retention

  • On-device data is retained until you delete it by resetting progress within the app or by uninstalling the app.
  • Advertising, analytics, and crash data collected by Google (AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) is retained according to Google's own retention policies, over which we have no control.

We do not maintain any server-side database of users, so there is no account data for us to retain or delete.

9. Security

Game data is stored within the app's private storage area on your device, protected by the operating system's app-sandboxing model. Because we do not transmit or store your personal data on our own servers, the primary safeguard for your information is your device's own security. We nonetheless cannot guarantee absolute security of any electronic storage.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data and to withdraw consent.

You can exercise practical control directly in the app:

  • Withdraw or change ad consent: Settings → Privacy Options.
  • Delete your data: use the in-app "Reset Progress" option, or uninstall the app.
  • Stop notifications: disable them in your device's system settings.

For requests relating to data processed by Google's advertising services, please also refer to Google's privacy controls. To make any other request, contact us using Section 11.

12. International Users

Rishta may be used worldwide. Advertising data collected by Google may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under Google's data-transfer safeguards. By using the app, you understand that advertising data may be processed as described by Google.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app or on our website. Your continued use of Rishta after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
