1. Overview
PDF Pixels is an Android application that provides PDF utility tools including compression, merging, splitting, conversion, watermarking, signing, and protection. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, by whom, and how it is used.
The short version: We do not collect, store, or transmit any data. All PDF and document processing happens entirely on your device. The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs, and it does not send your files or any personal information anywhere.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your files, PDFs, documents, or images
- Passwords you enter to protect or unlock PDFs
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your advertising ID (GAID) or any other device identifier
- Your IP address
- Your location
- Contacts or calendar data
- Usage analytics, behavioural data, or crash reports
We do not operate any servers that receive data from this app.
2.2 Data Collected by Third Parties
None. PDF Pixels contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers. No third party receives data from your use of the app.
The one exception outside our control is the Google Play Store itself, which collects installation and crash information for any app distributed through it. That collection is performed by Google Play, not by PDF Pixels, and is governed by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
3. How Your Files Are Handled
All file processing in PDF Pixels is 100% on-device:
- Files you select are read from your device's local storage
- All PDF operations (compress, merge, split, convert, sign, watermark, etc.) are performed locally using on-device libraries
- Processed output files are saved to a temporary cache directory on your device
- The cache is automatically cleared each time the app is launched
- No file content is ever uploaded to our servers or any third-party server
The app functions fully offline. You can verify this by putting your device in airplane mode — every tool continues to work.
4. Permissions
PDF Pixels requests the following Android permissions:

That is the complete list. Choosing images uses the Android system photo picker, which requires no permission at all — the app never gains access to your wider photo library. We do not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, the advertising ID, or any other sensitive permission.
5. Advertising
PDF Pixels contains no advertising.
Earlier versions of this app displayed ads through Google AdMob and asked for consent to do so where required by law. Advertising has been removed. As of the effective date above:
- No ads are requested, loaded, or displayed
- No advertising SDK is initialised, and no ad-related data is collected
- Your advertising ID is not read or shared
- The in-app "Ad Preferences" consent screen has been removed, as there is no longer any ad consent to manage
If you consented to personalised advertising in a previous version of the app, that consent is no longer used for anything. To review or clear any advertising data Google may still hold from your past use of Google services, visit https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy and https://adssettings.google.com.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Because PDF Pixels does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. The rights described below are stated for completeness.
6.1 GDPR (EU/EEA Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to processing of, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. We do not process personal data through this app, so there is nothing for us to act on — but if you believe otherwise, contact us at pixelcountlabs@gmail.com and we will respond.
6.2 US State Privacy Laws (CCPA / CPRA and others)
If you are a California resident or a resident of another US State with applicable privacy laws, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to delete it, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information, and the app performs no cross-context behavioural advertising.
7. Data Retention
- Files and documents: Never stored by us. Temporary copies in the device cache are deleted on next app launch.
- Personal data: None is collected, so none is retained.
8. Children's Privacy
PDF Pixels is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you have questions about children's use of the app, please contact us at pixelcountlabs@gmail.com.
9. Security
Because all file processing occurs on your device and we do not transmit your files anywhere, the security of your documents depends on your device's security. We recommend:
- Keeping your device OS and the app up to date
- Using a screen lock on your device
- Deleting sensitive processed files from your device when no longer needed
10. Third-Party Links
The app may contain links to external websites (e.g., Play Store, our website). Opening one leaves the app and hands you to your browser. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will provide a more prominent notice.
